01Who we are
This policy covers the website anonde.io and the services on it (the waitlist form and the live demo), for which Anonde is the data controller under the GDPR and similar laws. It does not cover the Anonde software itself: that's open-source and self-hosted, so when you run it on your own infrastructure we never see your data. Reach us any time at hello@anonde.io.
02What we collect & why
We collect as little as possible:
- Your email, only if you join the waitlist, used to tell you when early access opens. Legal basis: your consent, withdrawable any time. We don't sell it or use it for unrelated marketing.
- Aggregate, anonymous analytics: page views and a couple of demo events, with no cookies or cross-page tracking (see below). Legal basis: legitimate interest in understanding non-identifying traffic.
- Standard server logs: IP and request metadata kept briefly by our hosting/CDN provider for security and abuse prevention. Legal basis: legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
We don't collect names, payment details, or special categories of data through this site.
03The live demo
The demo sends the text you paste to Anonde's processing API
(api.anonde.io) only to show the anonymization round-trip. That input is
processed in memory, not retained, not logged, and never used for training
or shared. It's still a hosted demo, though, so please don't paste real secrets or
personal data. For a fully local round-trip, run the open-source image yourself and
nothing leaves your machine.
04Analytics & cookies
We use PostHog (EU region) for privacy-preserving, aggregate analytics. It's cookieless: no cookies, no tracking storage, no identifier following you across pages, so there's no consent banner to click. We see per-page traffic, not a profile of you. The only thing stored in your browser is your theme preference (dark/light) in local storage; it never leaves your device. We use no advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
06Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g. GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you can access, correct, delete, export, or object to our use of your data. Since the only identifying data we hold is your waitlist email, this is usually one message: email hello@anonde.io and we'll respond within the time the law requires. EU/EEA and UK residents can also complain to their local data protection authority. We don't knowingly collect data from anyone under 16.
07Changes & contact
If we change how we handle data, we'll update this page and the “last updated” date, and email waitlist subscribers about material changes. Questions or requests: hello@anonde.io.
That's the whole policy. Want to see the boundary in action?
